The approach
An end-to-end portal built around custom models for automated grading, personalised feedback generation and performance analytics.
Grading is not one task. Marking a numerical answer, assessing a short written response and judging structured work are different problems, and treating them as one is how automated grading loses teacher trust in the first week.
The portal keeps the educator in the loop by default: the model proposes a mark and a rationale, the teacher confirms or overrides, and overrides feed back into how the system is tuned.
Analytics came out of that naturally — once grading is structured data rather than a spreadsheet, cohort-level patterns are a query, not a project.
